Software Development Manager
Main function of the position:
- Responsible for the development of the software products and systems and engineering activities concerning products in the company.
- It is necessary for him to possess wider technical knowledge and experience with the product.
- Manages a team of developers, QAs and controls their activity.
Main obligations:
- Performs development of engineering activities for products and activities related to the support of products as per instructions
- Requires work in a team with other departments in the company such as Support, Marketing, Sales etc.
- Requires also work with external companies and providers depending on the activities related to the project
- Requires travelling
- Strictly controls all the development processes in the company
- Prepares documentation for the design, ranging over the most complicated characteristics of the product
- Follows the observation of project’s deadlines and encourages the team members to do it as well.
- Performs review of the code
- Gives ideas for the improvement of the product and the development activities
- Provides necessary help and support to his colleagues and other departments
- Duly informs his Manager for problems that have arisen
- Manages his own activity and works with a minimal control on behalf of the CEO
- Manages / directs team of software developers, QAs and controls their daily activity as well as the planning and the progress of the project.
- Performs other specific duties, related to the position
Main responsibilities
- Responsible for the state and functioning of the developed software products and systems.
- Observation of internal rules, working procedures and company circular letters.
- Observation of terms.
- Relations with Managers and specialists from other companies and organizations concerning information and software insurance are carried out.
Professional experience
- At least 5 years of broad technical experience
- At least 2 year experience in managing technical staff and complex activities. This experience should be accumulated in the field of research and development and technical management.
Special knowledge and skills
- Advanced technical knowledge;
- Bachelor or Master degree in computer science/informatics or equivalent;
- Good command of English language (spoken and written);
- 2+ years experience in commercial software projects;
- Deep knowledge in Java EE (JSP, EJB, Servlets, Struts, JPA, JMS);
- Programming experience in SQL;
- Strong analytical skills and incisive thinking ability;
- Experience with Unix/Linux and Shell Scripts;
- Experience in Eclipse, SVN, JIRA;
- Experience with XML and Web Services;
- Experience with MySQL;
- Experience with Apache;
- Self-motivated, independent worker;
- Should understand the topic of every discussion and be able to express opinion.
